Battwoo, backed by the European Union to accelerate second-life storage
We're proud to announce a major milestone for Battwoo: nearly €800,000 in support secured through the NextGenerationEU programme, funded by the European Union. This funding will allow us to accelerate the development of our stationary storage technology, built from electric-vehicle batteries diagnosed for a second life.

One ambition: storage that's more sustainable, more accessible, more circular
At Battwoo, our goal is clear: to make energy storage more sustainable, more accessible and more circular, while offering professionals robust, competitive and economically profitable solutions.
We already supply stationary storage systems (BESS) to commercial and industrial businesses. This European backing will allow us to go even further in studying how our second-life batteries behave.
What this funding will help us explore
In practical terms, this programme will strengthen our R&D across several areas:
- Modelling and ageing of second-life batteries, to better anticipate their long-term behaviour;
- Characterisation methods and accelerated testing, to qualify each module with ever greater precision;
- Optimising control and operating strategies for the batteries, to maximise our clients' gains;
- Developing systems that are always more efficient and reliable, serving both profitability and safety.
Recognition for an entire industry
Beyond Battwoo, this support is an important recognition of the work carried out by our teams and partners to structure a genuine European second-life stationary storage industry — a matter of industrial sovereignty as much as of circular economy.
Thank you to everyone supporting us on this journey. The best is yet to come.
